Fireworks are all fun and games until someone loses an eye, not to mention the overripe potato salad at the holiday picnic–so why not spend the weekend of the Fourth safely shopping within the air-conditioned confines of your favorite thrift store?
Several stores in Wichita will be running specials on Friday and/or Saturday:
Wichita-area DAV thrift stores are offering 50% off total purchase on Friday only; the stores are closed Saturday. (The sale commemorates the DAV’s 55th year of service.)
The Salvation Army at 21st and Amidon is offering 50% off all “bric-a-brac,” which includes most household items (no furniture, clothing, or accessories). The sale runs Friday and Saturday.
True story: Kali and I cased a certain DAV this afternoon, and we’re all planning to be out bright and early.
We’re going to try to keep up with thrifting deals around town and we’ll pass them on accordingly. For up-to-the-moment bargain news, follow us on Twitter @wichitathrift.
